Eugeniy A. Gomin

Date of birth: April 29, 1951

Education: Physical-power faculty of Moscow engineering - physical institute (MEPhI), 1968-1974; Speciality - " Physical-power installations "; qualification - "Engineer - physicist".

Professional experience: the Theory of reactors. The decision of practical tasks by the method of Monte Carlo. Calculation of sections of dispersion of slow neutrons. The author / co-author of software, including MCU - the universal code realizing a method of Monte Carlo; STEN for calculation of laws of dispersion S (a, b); VEPS for calculation of probabilities of the first collisions in three-dimensional geometries, PERST for the neutron transport equation by the first collision probability etc.

From 18.07.1993 till 21.01.2011, led the work on MCU-4 (ended 20/01/2005) and MCU-5 (ended 01/21/1911) software, first as chief of the laboratory and since 2007 as the head of the newly created department. Starting from 2011 works as senior researcher.

He led the work, performed jointly by staff of the NRC "Kurchatov Institute" and RFNC VNIITF:
- "Development of a full-scale three-dimensional computer model describing the physical processes occurring in the core of VVER-1200, using the MCU code ("Kurchatov Institute") and the PRISMA code (VNIITF) that implement the Monte Carlo method for multiprocessor computers" (2008-2009);
- "Calculations of neutron-physical characteristics of VVER-1000 and VVER-1200 by means of the Monte Carlo codes" (2010);
- "Monte Carlo calculations of neutron-physic characteristics of VVER-1000 and VVER-1200, taking into account feedback on fuel and coolant temperature and coolant density" (from 01.01 to 28.04 in 2011).

In RRC Kurchatov Institute since 1974 after MEPhI.

Areas of professional interests: Mathematical modelling, numerical methods and complexes of programs.

Personal Interests: Russian history, football (Spartak Moscow)
